FS at Home: Throwback Thursday

Design     |    July 21st, 2016

The only thing I enjoy about moving is the opportunity to decorate a new space. With every new apartment or house, belongings and decorations take on new life and fill the space in an entirely different way.

Junius House

This was my apartment when I first moved to Dallas two years ago. My ‘bedroom’ was actually the front living/dining space of our huge, one-bedroom from the 1920s. What it lacked in privacy it made up for in charm. While I didn’t stay in the space very long, I enjoyed making it my own while it was home.

A lot of these decor items now live in the guest room at my new house. Check them out here.

The high ceilings and tall windows were my favorite thing about this space.

I miss having such tall ceilings and loved the ornate details on the mantel over the fireplace/bookshelf. My new home was built in 1973 and leans much more to the mid century side of design. It will be interesting to see how all my ‘vintage grandma’ decor items will play into the new house scheme. Wish me luck!
