A Visit to the Pumpkin Patch

Locales     |    October 29th, 2016

I cannot believe it’s already Halloween weekend! October has truly passed us by in a blur. Between house projects, work projects, and everything in between, we didn’t even have the time to come up with costumes this year.

I did find this pretty great 90s turtleneck though

Yet there is no way I would let Autumn pass me by without partaking in at least a few of my favorite fall activities. With a distinct lack of apple orchards near Dallas, we decided to visit the Pumpkin Patch. This was my first foray into the Texas patch scene, and it did not disappoint. While the 80 degree weather squashed dreams of cozy Autumn attire, we not only survived the heat (and crowds), we even brought home a few funky pumpkins for the porch.

At least my dark lips and Gypsy Warrior tank were seasonally appropriate

We found ourselves at Hall’s Pumpkin Farm just outside of Dallas. It is such a cute property. And unlike some patches I’ve visited, it was both family friendly AND childless couple in their late 20’s friendly as well.

We fully intended to bring home a massive pumpkin, but while the cost was reasonable, the quarter mile hike back to the car was not. So we had to settle on a few modestly sized beauties.

Huzzah!

The chosen one!

I hope everyone is enjoying their respective Autumns. Bake a pie, watch the leaves change and maybe pick up a pumpkin or two.
